Our Design Journey

No. 1: Setting Out the Brief

The process begins with a friendly consultation to understand the client's needs, aspirations, and the scope of the project. Margot Tsim Interiors ensures clarity on vision, budget, and both practical and aesthetic requirements, laying the groundwork for the design.

No. 2: Concept Design & Proposals

A tailored design concept is created, featuring floor plans, moodboards, and a selection of architectural finishes. This stage also includes initial lighting design, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, window treatments, and custom details, establishing a cohesive vision for the project.

No. 3: Detailed Design & Coordination

In this stage, the design starts to take shape through detailed drawings, including wall and floor finishes, ceiling plans, and lighting proposals. Coordination with architects, M&E professionals, and other consultants ensures that all elements of the design work seamlessly together.

No. 4: Technical Design & Tender Package

All design elements are consolidated into a comprehensive tender package, which includes final drawings, detailed schedules, and clear specifications. This ensures that the contractor has a complete and precise understanding of the project scope, ensuring accurate pricing and execution.

No. 5: Tender & Appointment Process

If required, Margot Tsim Interiors supports the tender process by reviewing contractor quotations and addressing any Requests for Information (RFIs). The contractor is appointed directly by the client, and Margot Tsim Interiors ensures alignment on the scope of work and accurate pricing for a smooth project delivery.

No. 6: FF&E Design, Procurement & Supply

A sourcing fee is agreed once a detailed shopping list is established in collaboration with the client. If required, we manage the procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment—from curated off-the-shelf pieces to bespoke furniture, lighting, rugs, and artwork. We operate on an open-book policy, passing on trade discounts where applicable. A procurement fee is charged as a percentage of the total FF&E spend processed through Margot Tsim Interiors. All logistics and deliveries are carefully coordinated to ensure a seamless installation.

No. 7: Design Coordination

Throughout the construction phase, Margot Tsim Interiors remains actively involved in reviewing technical drawings and maintaining communication with contractors and suppliers. Site visits are conducted as needed to ensure the design is executed as planned and to resolve any queries promptly.

No. 8: Styling & Handover

Styling and dressing of the space can be included as an optional service, where Margot Tsim Interiors ensures every detail is polished. For overseas clients, a virtual walk-through of the completed space can be provided, ensuring everything aligns with the client's vision. Follow-up questions and remote adjustments are available to ensure complete satisfaction with the finished project.
